The third phase of the Enhancement Participatory Democracy in Turkey: Gender Equality Monitoring Project, funded by the European Union, started to be implemented by the Association for Monitoring Gender Equality (CEID) on September 1, 2023.
The project is being implemented in 11 provinces, namely Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Mersin, Samsun and Trabzon.
The project is designed to increase the monitoring capacities and awareness of civil society organizations, to enable them to incorporate a gender equality perspective into their monitoring activities, and to support local governments, especially municipalities, to present their policy formulation, implementation and monitoring processes from a gender equality perspective.
Another objective of the Gender Equality Monitoring Project is to develop a culture of cooperation and joint work among civil society organizations, academia, trade unions, professional organizations working for the public good, bar associations and local governments working to ensure gender equality.
